What a Day

So about 1:50 today my principal came around and said to get an activity together for a sub because I was going home at 2! The weather was getting really bad where I live and I live quite far from work. So that was good. Pat also got released at 2 so we both were headed home the same time. It took us both just about 2 hours (normally we are about a 1/2 hour drive home) and it was total white out for the last stretch. So these pictures are taken today, March 6th and we could possibly have a snow day tomorrow. No matter what I may end up staying home because it's hard to get out of our neighborhood with conditions like this.

This was Phoebe's first snow and I don't think she was that impressed. I think if she had boots it would've been different but one doesn't worry about snow boots when one lives in Texas. I had to make her stomp around for some photo ops, though. We weren't out there too long.

In other news, she did something funny for the first time tonight. Pat isn't feeling well so he fell asleep on the couch downstairs. I decided to take Phoebe upstairs where she wouldn't disturb him. We put on American Tail and she sat next to me and watched, giggling then squirming then almost passing out. Finally she got up, slid off the couch and grabbed my hand. She tugged it as if to say "follow me" so I did. We held hands all the way to her room where she stopped in front of her crib and pointed. I guess she was ready for bed and wanted to let me know as much. It was really cute. I put her down and haven't heard a peep since. I like this new technique. It's much better than crying and carrying on until Mommy and Daddy finally get the hint :)
