Bye-Bye Seattle

Well, it's been great as always. See you next time!

Woodland Park Zoo

On Monday before we had to come back to Texas we hit up one of our favorite spots for lunch, The Wing Dome. When we were done we realized that we had a bit of time to kill before going to the airport so we decided to go to the zoo.

Elsie at the Condo

Here are a couple of Photos of Elsie at the condo where we stayed in Seattle.

Later Sunday

We had plans to meet up with my old friends on Sunday evening for dinner. Before that we went back to the condo. Mom, Phoebe and I did a little shopping while Pat, Dad and Elsie took a little snooze. Once everyone was up and ready to go we walked a block down to Pike Place Market.

Since we'd had such a big lunch and were planning on going out to dinner we opted to make a quick stop over at Pike Place Brewery for a drink. The girls were hungry so they had lunch while the rest of us enjoyed a leisurely couple of rounds. Elsie ate and entire plate of chicken nuggets!

These are photos of the girls at the brewery.

Alkai Beach

The final weekend of our vacation we (including my mom and dad) went to Seattle to spend some time. On Saturday we took the girls to the aquarium. We were very fortunate to have the loan of our friends condo downtown. Once we parked we could walk pretty much every where we wanted to go. It was quite difficult, however, getting the double stroller back up the massive hill to the condo. Oh well, got my workout in for the day.

On Sunday we got up early and had breakfast/brunch at Salty's on Alkai. Salty's has an amazing display of food, anything you could possibly be craving. We had an amazing seat right at the windows over looking the sound. We could even see sea lions swimming!

After eating our fill we took a stroll up and down Alkai beach and this is where these photos are from.

BBQ at Matt and Stephanie's

So during our little trip to Puyallup our Friends had a BBQ to try to corral as many of the old peeps together as possible. We realized that we were out numbered. There were 10 adults and 12 kids. My how times have changed. These aren't all the kids, obviously, but it was as many as I could catch and pin down for a minute :)

Olympia

On Wednesday of our Trip we were staying with our friends in Puyallup. During the day Pat and our friends took the older kids to a ball game. I really didn't feel up to carting Elsie around the park so I took the opportunity to visit Olympia. I hadn't really spent much time there since I left college and it really is a beautiful area. This picture is of Elsie at the Urban Onion. She enjoyed one of my favorites...vegan lentil soup. The girl is such a good eater. She also really enjoyed their sweet potato fries. Yum!

First Stop...Wedinville

On our vacation to the PNW we made our first official stop at our friend Dick and Audrey Wedin's house. Their daughter, Megan, is the God Mother to our girls. Megan and I have been friends since birth (seriously) and I have many fond memories spending time with her family on their farm.

Tulsa

Our dear friend Anne had a quick stop over in Tulsa during her U.S. tour. She's in the Dominican Republic now doing work for the summer. She was traveling and visiting as many people as she could before leaving. We made the trek to Tulsa to see her for just a couple of days and these are just a couple shots of Phoebe during that quick trip.

4th of July

We went to Frisco Freedom Fest this year and here are some shots of the girls at the festivities. Elsie slept quite a bit but Phoebe had a ton of fun on all the bouncy stuff.

Swim lessons

These are from her second or third lesson. We have only 1 more week left and she is holding her breath for about 4-5 seconds and kicking her legs. When using barbell style floaties she will use her arms to pull herself towards objects. She will also jump in on her own.
